Lee is an Advocate of the Royal Court. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators. He is a past President of the Jersey branch of the Insurance Institute and currently sits as the Chair of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Lee is also a member of the British Insurance Law Association.
His specialist practice area is insurance law, which encompasses various different subject areas from professional and clinical negligence; policy coverage; professional liability causes of action and personal injury litigation. He regularly appears before the Royal Court defending corporate and individual policyholders for regulatory breaches or infractions, motoring offences and other civil law related claims. He leads high value, complex cases, working closely with instructing UK law firms and King’s Counsel. He was instrumental in the drafting and enactment of the Damages (Jersey) Law 2019.
Lee has a long-standing reputation within the London and Jersey insurance markets and provides a bespoke advisory service for many syndicates, prominent insurers, independent underwriters and brokers.
Over recent years, he has regularly presented seminars to the Channel Islands and London insurance industries on wide ranging topics and has been speaker and chairman to various conferences locally, in the UK and the Caribbean.
